There was a fairly interesting article about An anti-doping expert that has lifted the lid on a huge problem facing international cricket after two worrying cases are in the game's shortest format. A huge case descended on the cricket world when West Indian T20 specialist Andre Russell was banned for a breach in the rules. The all-rounder had an offence equal to failing a drug test under Anti-Doping Agency guidelines. Russell was banned from playing professional cricket both internationally and domestically until late January 2018. Then, in April this year, Afghanistan T20 player Mohammad Shahzad tested positive for a banned substance (clenbuterol) before being suspended. While cases like Russell's and Shahzad's are currently rare in international cricket, an expert warns they could be the first of many breaches to confront T20. This is quite concerning, because as it is stated in the article cases like Shahzad and Russell are quite rare but there have been heaps of other issues regarding drug tests in the past which are still common in the T20 world. This needs improving the ICC department needs to have strict rules regarding drug testing and needs to work on setting strong consequences for players who do drugs.

A recent article i read was about yet another robbery. Two men have been arrested after an aggravated robbery at an Auckland dairy last year.
Two men were charged with the aggravated robbery and burglary of the Garnet Dairy, in Auckland's inner-western suburb of Westmere on October 1. a 28 year-old man, also faces charges for unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and driving while disqualified. "Our enquiries have been ongoing for many months and this morning's arrest is the result of the determination of our staff to bring those responsible to justice," said detective phil Cox. Two men were due to appear in the Auckland District Court today. I think robberies are becoming more and more common these days, and this issue needs to be worked on. There have been 2 other major robberies one of which was in a band in glenfield and one which was of a security van in Royal Oak. yet again another robbery. There needs to be stronger securities and the police need to warn the people that robbing does have massive consequences they need to work quicker and figure out a way to stop these big robberies from happening. But also have bigger consequences for people who do this crime A quite recent article i read on the nz herald was about A Greymouth man who stole $20 from an SPCA charity box at Noah's Ark Backpackers was told he had insulted both the charity and the community.
James Castlehouse, 22, appeared in the Greymouth District Court on Tuesday. James put the charity box under his jacket and walked out of the backpackers. On the driving charge, he told police when stopped that he needed to get some milk. Lawyer George Linder said Castlehouse had two jobs and when a lift to one of them did not arrive he risked it and drove. As for the theft, he was "very, very apologetic". I think it was a bit ridiculous to steal money from an SPCA charity box, considering it was only to buy milk. Stealing of donation is an offence and also disrespectful to the community and people that live in that community. He was convicted on both charges and sentenced to 50 hours of community work and disqualified from driving for six months from October 7, when his current disqualification ends. I think this is a fair consequence, considering he admitted the crime and was very sorry this is a decent consequence. I recently read a very serious article about a man who is banned from owning an animal for 4 years because of beating a puppy in public. He threw his puppy against the car and punched it in the stomach 10 times.
Ezekiel James Charles Wilson was sentenced in the Hamilton District Court on two charges of abusing an animal and failure to provide medical treatment. The attack on June 16 last year, seen by members of the public in a mall car park in Hamilton, broke three of the 4-month-old puppy's ribs. This time it was reported to police that Wilson was spotted again beating the puppy, Floyd, at his home. This time Wilson was seen holding the dog by his left hind leg and dragging him into the house. Police were called and found a cowering and distressed dog with a lame hind leg and with a head bowed in fear. This is horrifying how could someone just abuse an innocent animal like that and not just once but twice. This disgusts me animal abuse is revolting and shouldn’t be done. Although i personally think that just banning him from owning an animal for just 4 years isn’t justifying, it is not a sensible consequence especially for someone who abused an animal is such a bad way 2 times. Banning him for just 4 years isn’t enough i think he should be banned from owning a pet forever. I read a new article on Nz Herald about a robbery of a security van being robbed on Royal Oak. the article states how the police are investigating and seeking witnesses.
Detective Tony Mckenzie said the robbery happened on the main entrance of The Warehouse at around 1.50pm on May 9. A white car with three people inside, one was apparently holding a gun came near the two van guards. The guards did as they were told and handed over a bag. The robbers then drove off owards Pah Rd . Police are making inquiries and are speaking with witnesses. This makes me concerned because there have been some other robbery cases too recently such as a band being robbed in glenfield the other day. The police need to investigate and stop this somehow as soon as possible this cannot keep happening. They need stronger security around places like these. I recently read a really interesting article on the nz herald called “Stephen Hawking warns that humans must leave earth in 100 years”. The article talks about the increasing risk of earth being wiped out by a disaster. The topic that is basically discussed is that earth is becoming less and less suitable for life over the century and how future generations must forge existence in space.
In the documentary, that is going to be on BBC 2, stephen will talk about time which is running out for human existence on Earth and how we need to find life in space . he also warns that life on earth will not survive for another 1,000 years. He has previously stated his views on the future of space travel, in his book, How to Make a Spaceship. He said: "I believe that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as a sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers," I think the human race has no future if it doesn't go to space." To me this is really scary. Imagine our whole planet being wiped out by massive disaster. That concerns me just thinking of the points that stephen hawkings has stated because in some way or another in my opinion what he is saying is very true. The possibility of earth being wiped out is very high. Former Black Cap Scott Styris says the "inmates have taken over the asylum" follow a decision to reduce bat sizes that has sparked outrage across the cricket world. The new laws were announced by the MCC and will mean players including Australian opener David Warner will have to trade in his Kaboom for a smaller model.
After October 2017, the maximum dimensions of a cricket bat will be 108mm in width, 67mm in depth with 40mm edges. Styris led a stream of criticism from former New Zealand, Australian and English cricketers as the reacted to the changes. I think this is really unusual and unnecessary there are so many other issues/ things that could be / should be changed in cricket. There are so many things happening in cricket that are wrong and should not be done but no one pays that much attention to them, i personally do not know how this is relevant and what is the point of wasting all that money. There is spot fixing for example which is getting worse and worse as it is emerging. That is an issue that needs to be fixed. Leave the bats alone. New footage appears to show Louis Tomlinson's girlfriend being attacked by two other females at Los Angeles Airport. The One Direction singer was arrested after an altercation with a paparazzo at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday. his girlfriend Eleanor Calder appears to have been physically threatened by two people before Tomlinson rushed to her aid. Tomlinson first intervening after the photographer took pictures of Eleanor and invaded her personal space. While she walked away, Tomlinson tried to grab the man's camera. The pair then appeared to struggle before Tomlinson tripped and brought the photographer down with him. Tomlinson can be heard shouting, "What the hell is happening?" and, "Can we get some help?" before rushing over to help Calder, who was pushed into a corner by the two females. Tomlinson, 25, was later arrested and booked for simple battery. He was released on US$20,000 bail but is due to appear in court in Los Angeles on March 29.
I think this is not acceptable. How can someone get away with physically attacking someone else. I personally do not think louis should have been arrested because after all it wasn’t his fault. There was also a video clip proving that 2 girls physically attacked his girlfriend while he did not really have a choice but to push the 2 girls away. This is ridiculous i think this incident was not dealt with properly cat found in a trap A stray cat was found in a loose leg-hold trap in whangarei. It had to be put down after the trap almost cut through the animal’s paw. SPCA inspectors said the injured cat was found caught in a possum trap at a residential property in Riverside. The cat was taken to a vet but could not be saved because of the severity of the injuries, the trap cut almost right through the front right paw and the cat must have suffered a lot of pain.
I think this is simply just not acceptable. The message here is people need to make sure they educate themselves on the rules around setting traps, they need to be more responsible. I think people should constantly be reminded to not set up leg-hold traps in urban areas because of the risks to pets and animals. As an example The latest warning comes after a man last week who was fined after he admitted nailing a leg hole trap to a fence to catch possums. A 4-year-old cat was discovered dead, hanging from the trap by the left front leg about three days later on March 23, 2016. This is simply not right this comes under animal abuses in some ways. Every year, trappers kill 10 million raccoons, coyotes, wolves, bobcats, opossums, nutria, beavers, otters, and other fur-bearing animals. Trappers use various types of traps, including snares and conibear traps. This is inhumane Animals often struggle for hours, sometimes days, before they finally succumb to exhaustion, exposure, frostbite, shock, and death. This is simply just cruel. "Goooodbyeee raaacists!" "Goooodbyeee raaacists!"
That was the blunt - and unquestionably sarcastic - message one heated passenger delivered to a man and a woman as they were being kicked off a United Airlines flight Saturday evening for causing a disturbance that was blamed on racist comments. As the couple placed their bags in an over head bin, a male passenger - who was not identified by the airline - asked the couple if they had a bomb in their luggage, another passenger sitting nearby told KHOU. "That's not a bomb in your bag, is it?" the man said, according to the passenger. This made the rest of the passengers slightly uncomfortable as this question was irrelevant and comes under racism. Most customers appreciate a place where they feel safe and where they're not going to be attacked. The male passenger was removed for making others feel uncomfortable on the flight and for saying some inappropriate things to customers on the flight, noting that removing customers from flights because of disruptive behavior is exceedingly rare. I believe this was completely unnecessary and these comments are inappropriate and make other people uncomfortable. People who deliver these racist comments should definitely the consequences it requires. I believe that removing the male passenger was a sensible thing to be done. |
